Sawnee & Colleen live at 10,00- ft. in the Rockies. They have no electricity. They use solar panels, with batteries, propane & wood. Their refrigerater is propane. It would cost them $25,000 to have electricity put into their house. That's how far they are from any towns.
They have to drive about 45 miles roundtrip just to get their mail - there is no mail service out here either.
Their acreage is loaded with chipmunks & all different kinds of birds. They have seen bear, but not for a few years.
It has only been in the 60's since we've been here & the lows have been in the 30's.
Swanee had to have a test today for his surgery. They had to drive to Denver - an hour and a half away. They will have to go again tomorrow to see a different doctor. It sure takes someone special to live way out here.
