From Rio Hondo to Toledo

We spent an extra day in Rio Hondo to say goodbye to Jim, who was operated on for a re-do of a bypass on his femural arteries. He is home now and doing well.
We went to Livingston, Texas to pick up our mail, that had the title to our new car, so we could get it registered and plates for it. The title wasn't there, so we spent the weekend waiting for it.
Then, we went to Memphis to see Graceland. The only problem was when we started the tour & John went to take the first picture of Elvis' living room, the camera battery was dead. So, no pictures of Graceland.
But, it was very interesting and full of Elvis' gold records, cloths, family pictures, cars, motorcycles, and his jewelry.
And, of course, lots of gift shops to buy anything and everything with Elvis on it.
We then went to Union KY, to visit Dan & Jessica and their girls, Sophia & Phoebe. We spent Father's Day with them. It so good to see them - the girls are just precious.
Monday, we found Keith and Angela, friends from Casa Grande, and had lunch and a good visit with them.
We got to Toledo on Tuesday.
We took a drive to see the damage from the tornadoes that went through 6/7. It was really horrible.
We are at Maumee Bay State Park with John's cousin, Renee and her husband Jim & their daughter, Erin. Having a good time and it was great to see the park help that we've known since hosting here.

Travels from Casa Grande

We left Casa Grande on Thursday morning the 27th. Because of all our goodbyes, we didn't 'get on the road again' until around 11 a.m.
We were headed to Rio Hondo, TX, and arrived here on June 1.
We are visiting our friends, Marge & Jim.
Marge is recovering from chemotherapy for leukemia and doing well. She looks real cute with her new hair growth.
We saw the mold for the Iwo Jima statue. One of the soldiers in it was from Rio Hondo, and it sits out front of a military school.
On Wednesday, we went to South Padre Island. We drove from one end to the other - it's a small island. While there, we went to a sea turtle rescue operation. We were amazed at the size of sea turtles - they are huge. As you'll see in our pictures, there were a lot of rescued turtles missing a flipper. This organization rescues these turtles, rehabs them, & tries to return them to the ocean. They also protect sea turtle eggs, and the newborn turtles.
Then, we walked around the pier area in Port Isabel.
The weather here has been in the 90's and humidity in the 60's.
