The Rains

We had torrential rains in January. the pictures show how flooded the desert got.
Hadn't seen this much rain in 20 years - only when the Kuohns are somewhere is the weather a record!
The desert - flooded

Interesting Morning

Had an interesting morning - after Ann opened the office, there was a knock on the outside window. when Ann opened the window, a Mexican lad asked if she would call immigration for him. Ann couldn't find a number for the Border Patrol, so she called the non-emergency number for the local police.
They gave her the number to the Border Patrol and also asked if she wanted a patrolman to come out. Ann called the Border Patrol and they said that someone else had called about 3 men walking along the road and that someone was on their way.
The Border Patrol wagon finally came, after the Mexicans knocked again on the window and asked for some water - the lad said they hadn't eaten or had any water in 2 days, the agent had the 3 Mexicans put their hands against the wall of the clubhouse and searched them. He then put them in the back of his wagon. John asked the agent how far it was to the border - 80 miles.
The agent also told John that most of the illegals that came by our park had criminal records, mostly from drug smuggling. Makes us feel safer - not!
Thankfully, the illegals were wet and cold and posed no threat to us - were very thankful when Ann gave them some water.
