Left Chimacum this morning and are heading east. We took the ferry from Port Townsend, across the Puget Sound to Keystone. It is a half hour trip & cut about 2 hours off our trip. We didn't have to go south around the Sound & then back north.
It was a pretty trip across Whidbey Island. Lots of views of the Sound & the Cascades to the east.
There are 2 deer crossing the road & going into a nursery We saw them go into the nursery and were tipping flower pots off the shelfs. Looked like the bull in a china shop. We thought it would be a mess by the time they got them out of there.

John needed pictures of the rafters - he really wants to raft down a river. Saw these rafters as we were leaving the Hoh Rain Forest.

These ships were decommissioned the USS Ranger, the USS Independence, & the USS Constitution. These are in the port of Bremerton, where there is a naval base.

Notice - Humptulips - isn't that a crazy name??

Three ships in for repairs

On Monday, we left the Hoh Rain Forest & drove south and spent the night at a WalMart in Aberdeen. The next day we drove north to the Puget Sound, again. We stayed in Belfair at a state park. On Thursday, we drove north to Bremerton to see what was there to see. There is a navy base there & they repair navy ships there, too. We ended up getting the muffler on the truck fixed, & then went to a mall & walked around & then went to an Outback for dinner.
We are now back in Chimacum, waiting for a cable that John ordered from Ebay.
