We left Pahrump last Monday & got as far as Hawthorne, NV. Spent the night in a casino parking lot. Made it to Fallon, NV the next day. Came here to visit with Carrie, Craig, & Caleigh. Carrie is Ann's cousin's daughter. We had a very enjoyable time. Caleigh kept us entertained the few hours we were with them. She is a real cutie!
We left Fallon on Thursday to head to Sea Ranch, CA to see Carrie's parents.
We drove, & drove. Couldn't find anyplace to spend the night - gotta love California! We ended up in Bodega Bay - this is the city the old moovie 'The Birds' was made. It cost us $40 to spend the night there in an RV park. Gotta love California!
We were only about an hour & a half from our destination, but, with all the wind & twisty roads, John was absolutely exhausted.
We got to see a lot of vineyards in Napa.
We are parked facing the ocean - really fabulous. There are birds galore flying around the rig; pelicans, sea gulls, & all sorts of land birds. We have also seen divers down in front of us.
I can't get any pictures to upload. I'll keep trying - hope they are worth the effort.

Ash Meadows

We drove out towards Death Valley with Bobbi & Armando to locate a geo-cache. We found it - it was under a hard hat that was made to look like a turtle. We left a small figurine & took a Czech geocaching coin.
Then we drove to Ash Meadows. This is a National Wildlife Refuge.
The 23,000 acre wetland has 7 springs, a reservoir, and marshlands.
It was pretty dry there today, but we walked a boardwalk along a stream to Crystal Spring. This spring and stream has pupfish swimming in it. We also saw lizards, some pretty flowers we'd never seen before, & some rabbits.
It was pretty hot walking the boardwalk, but the wildflowers & fish were worth it.
We stopped at Longstreet Casino & Hotel for lunch. This hotel is out in the middle of no-where.
It is between Pahrump & Death Valley. The casino & bar were full of antiques & they had a tv set that was owned by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, Turned out, this is the same tv we had - neat.
We are going to the Nugget tonight to listen some country/western music ( & of course, do a little slot playing).

On the road again

We have left Casa Grande, and are now in Pahrump, NV.
Murphy & Gail, Bobbie & Armando, & Ted &
Dorothy are all here, too.
We were later than usual leaving Casa Grande. We have been hired as managers at the park for next season - Sept. - May. So, there was lots of training to be done.
Then, John flew back to Toledo to attend the funeral of his cousin Ronnie.
A sudden death that has us all heart-broken.
The baby pictures are of our two great-nieces. Libby - born in November, & Hannah born in April. Aren't they just the cutest???
John also took pictures out the plane window, & the last was of an overpass fence outside Las Vegas.
We will be here for a week & then heading onward.
